How do you keep kids and families interested in summer camp throughout the year? Write a blog for them, that’s how. So Camp Alleghany, a venerable camp for girls in the Alleghany Mountains of West Virginia that’s nearly a century old, teamed up with the Curren Group to help them start a blog.
As a result of blogging for three years, twice a week every month of the year, Camp Alleghany filled all its camper spots and even had to start a waiting list.
At first, because the camp’s existing website could not accommodate a blog, we created a separate website to host the blog. Over three years, the blog site developed a regular readership with steadily increasing traffic, generating more leads and ultimately, more campers.
Then, when the camp redesigned their main website with new technology, we helped them integrate the blog into it.
